Harvest tips for Chinese leaves stored in modules

Harvest Chinese leaves when ripe: firm cabbage, outer leaves with the characteristic pale green color of the species, and cream-colored heart leaves.
Do not store wet/rain harvested Chinese cabbage, or if it shows signs of disease. Sanitary quality is the main determinant of the storage potential of Chinese cabbage.

Storage of Chinese leaves in modules

Store Chinese cabbage loose in the module bin. Leave the picking leaf which will protect the cabbage during storage.
The bins can be filled in the field if there is no need to store them by size; otherwise the filling of the bins takes place at the end of the sorting line.
As Chinese cabbage is sensitive to CO2, one bag of Captacal must be added per module for storage, to avoid blackening of the leaf grooves.
At the end of storage, recut the cut and remove the harvest outer leaf.
