Harvest tips for blueberries stored in modules

Different quality criteria (color, size, firmness) can be taken into account to trigger the harvest. The main maturity index of blueberries is based on sugar content, measured in Brix degrees: for storage in modules, it is recommended to pick blueberries with a sugar content between 12 and 12.5 ° Brix.
Do not store blueberries that are wet/harvested in the rain, or that show signs of disease.

Storage of blueberries in modules

Blueberries are kept in crates; they can be overpacked in trays for preservation.
The storage temperature should be between 0.5 and 2°C. It is recommended to cool down as soon as possible after harvesting to preserve the storage potential as much as possible. Make sure that the temperature has been reached before closing the CA lids.
