Harvest tips for blackcurrant stored in modules

Blackcurrants to be marketed fresh after storage in modules must be harvested by hand (it is not possible to store machine harvested blackcurrants in modules). The main indicator to be used to trigger harvesting is coloration: wait until the berries have reached a black color to start harvesting.
The preferred sizes for storage are between 0.3 and 0.8 cm.
Do not store blackcurrants that are wet or showing signs of disease.

Storage of blackcurrant in modules

The blackcurrants are to be stored in crates in the module bins. Blackcurrants can be overwrapped in plastic trays and put in crates for storage.
Rapid cooling is recommended after harvest to avoid dehydration which can occur before the CA lids are closed.
Allow the blackcurrant to dry after readaptation.
